Shepherds

“I will be loyal to the United Methodist Church and uphold it with my prayers, my presence, gifts and my service.

All members of Keith Church are assigned a shepherd to care for their family. The shepherd’s main responsibility is to pray for their sheep on a daily basis. Through the Shepherd Ministry, all members of the Keith Family are prayed for daily. Each shepherd has four to five families in their flock. Twilla Dodson and Vaudine McKinney coordinate the Shepherd Ministry. If you have any questions or are interested in becoming a shepherd, please call the church office.

There are 5 things requested of Shepherds

1. Shepherds are asked to pray daily for each member of their flock. This is the most important duty of a Shepherd.

2. Shepherds are asked to look for members of their flock at church and speak to them. If they are missing, find out why. Let them know they were missed and we care about them.

3. Shepherds are requested to make at least one contact with each family each month. That may be a phone call, a visit, a note, speak with them at church, whatever is convenient.

4. Shepherds are requested to contact the church if someone in their flock is having a problem, or inform the Wednesday evening intercessory prayer group to place them on the prayer list.

5. All Shepherds will come together quarterly for about an hour to share ideas, joys and concerns. This meeting is a spiritual pep-rally and designed help you learn to pray and know God.
