One of the most vibrant ministries in Keith Church
is the music ministry. This ministry crosses age lines
and is an active part of services at Keith. Adult,
youth, and children's vocal groups, as well as an adult handbell
choir, share their musical gifts in worship continuously.
Membership in all groups is on a volunteer basis.
Chancel
Choir, Wednesdays,
weekly, 7:00—8:00ish pm
The Chancel Choir is
open to all, 9th grade and above, who like to sing and want to be a
part of serving through music in worship.
Weekly rehearsals for the fall season begin Wednesday,
August 6, 7:00pm, in the choir room; the choir sings each Sunday
in the 10:35am traditional service and in additional services as
needed. The repertoire
of the choir runs the gamut of good sacred choral works, including
larger works for the Christmas season.
All materials — vestments, folders, music, etc. — are
provided.
Cornerstone
Choir, Wednesdays,
monthly, 6:00—6:50pm
The Cornerstone
Choir is open to all, 9th grade and above, who also like to sing and
want to be a part of serving through music in worship.
Monthly rehearsals for the fall season begin Wednesday,
September 3, 6:00pm, in the choir room; the choir sings each
Sunday in the 8:30am traditional service and in additional services
as needed. This choir
enjoys singing hymns and the like, appropriate for the early
service. All materials
are provided.
Grace
Chimes, Wednesdays,
weekly, 4:30—5:20pm
The Grace Chimes is
open to all, 4th grade and above, who enjoy making music with
handchimes and serving through music in worship.
Weekly rehearsals for the fall season begin Wednesday,
August 27, 4:30pm, in the handbell room; Grace Chimes serves in
worship periodically throughout the season.
Reading music, although not required, is
certainly a plus. We
enjoy learning a variety of music and having a good time along the
way! All materials are
provided.
Handbell
Choir
The Handbell Choir
is open to all, 9th grade and above, who enjoy making music with
handbells and serving through music in worship.
Weekly rehearsals for the fall season will begin soon, at
a time/date to be announced; the Handbell Choir serves in
worship periodically throughout the season.
Reading music, although not required, is certainly a plus.
The Handbell Choir is reconstituting itself after a hiatus,
so, if you have ever thought about being involved, now is the time!
All materials are provided.
Children’s
Choirs, Wednesdays,
weekly, 6:00—6:50pm
The Children’s
Choirs are open to children, through fifth grade, who enjoy making
music and praising the Lord. Weekly
rehearsals for the fall begin Wednesday, August 27, 6:00pm,
immediately following the fellowship dinner; the children’s choirs
serve in worship
periodically throughout the season.
